“For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world,
even our faith.”
(1 John 5:4)

“I am a victor in Christ Jesus. I am an Overcomer. Nothing in my circumstances. Nothing that people say or do will affect my faith.” Proclaim aloud these words whenever you’re discouraged or in a difficult situation and you will find yourself a winner. This is my very own personal truth. I’m humbled to say that even impossible situations have become positively possible and favorable situations when I proclaimed “I’m a positive winner in Christ Jesus!” Though there are several instances where this has happened in my life, I have cited one such memorable incident here for God’s glory.

Sometime ago prior to my ordination, I received a call to participate in a three day workshop that was held in a venue near where I live. This sudden invitation posed a perplexing situation since at that point all my family members, friends and well-wishers had very busy schedules and were not able to accompany me for this workshop. However, in absolute faith I proclaimed “I’m a positive winner in Christ Jesus. I’m an overcomer. Nothing is impossible for me because of my Jesus” and I proceeded to attend the workshop totally on my own successfully. This may sound like a simple ordinary exercise, but for me, a total visually impaired person who can hardly get to the staircase in my building, it was a miracle by Christ Jesus.

When most Christians face problematic situations they get too emotional and they expect God to be constantly on their side placing His hands over their shoulders and cry over them in sympathy. Yes, God does cry for us in compassion. Remember John 11:35 when Jesus wept looking at the tears of sorrow running down the cheeks of the distraught and mourning sisters Martha and Mary? But we all know that in the next few moments Jesus miraculously resurrected Lazarus and solved their problem. God reacts similarly to us too. But God would not keep on crying over our shoulders everytime. He has bigger things to offer us. We must open our hearts, souls and spirits and see in faith what God has to offer us. Focus your eyes upon the word of God in faith and let the word of God guide you and lead you during your times of difficulties.

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).

As long as Peter focused his eyes upon Jesus, he was able to walk on the water of Lake Galilee. Other than Jesus, Peter was the only one ever to have lived on earth who had walked on water like the Lord did. But the moment he took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the waves and wind, he began to sink and drown. The same thing happens to us all the time. As long as we are focused on Jesus, we are able to walk on and through our troubled waters, but the moment we take our eyes off Him, we begin to sink being engulfed and consumed in our troubles, turbulence and problems. As long as our eyes look upon Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, we can sail through any storm as the apostles did in John 6:21 where Jesus comes walking towards them on the water saying , “It is I don’t be afraid.”

“The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63).

Indeed the words of Jesus have life. He is Life. Jesus is the Word and the Word of God is Jesus. Focus on the word of God whenever you are discouraged and proclaim “I am a positive winner in Christ. I’m an overcomer in Christ Jesus.” And I can assure you that you will reap miraculous results. You will be a victor in Christ Jesus. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Prov. 23:7). And when you think and believe that you are a positive winner in Christ, you will be a positive winner. When we focus ourselves in the word of God, the Holy Spirit takes control and moves within us empowering us to be overcomers in Christ Jesus. It is a new feeling of enlightenment that is so unique and divine.

Start taking God’s word and apply it to your situation. Start speaking the word of God and empower yourselves in the spirit of God. Speak the word of God and build yourselves up positively. And start proclaiming that you are a positive winner in Christ, you are an overcomer in Christ Jesus. That is all you have to do.

1 John 5:12 says, “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” Indeed it is true, as long as we have Jesus we have life and as long as we have the Light of Life, we are overcomers in Christ and positive winners in Christ Jesus. We will come out of any situation burning with positive energy. Believe in that, walk in faith, walk in the Word of God, walk in Christ Jesus.

This is the absolute and ultimate formula for success – the miraculous formula to be a positive winner. Try it now. It never fails. It has never failed for me.
